Vendor registration: what the portal checks
The large owners register suppliers on their own portals and check the supplier's site, email and catalogue. Here is what they ask for and what the site and the catalogue provide.
Aramco, NEOM, SABIC, Ma'aden and the ministries in Saudi Arabia register suppliers through their own portals, and the portals look at the supplier before they look at the offer. Aramco's supplier guide asks for the user's individual company email address, not a generic company address or a public webmail one; asks general commodity suppliers to upload their catalogue details; and states that images are a very important feature of the B2B catalogue, up to three per item. Prequalification then asks for the profile, the project record and the certificates. There is a paid market of consultants who fill these portals for a fee; the portal step is theirs or yours. What a site can do is make every field answerable in minutes.
What it requires
- An individual company-domain email address for the portal user; generic or public webmail addresses are refused
- Catalogue details uploaded per item, with images, for commodity suppliers
- A company profile, a project record and certificates for the prequalification stage
- Consistent company data across the portal, the site and the documents: name, registration, address, bank account
- Documents kept valid through renewals and portal re-verification
What the system provides
- Your own domain with mailboxes on it, so every staff member has a company-domain address
- A spec catalogue with the specification, datasheet and images per product, exportable per item for the portal upload
- The profile PDF, the project record and the certificates with dates, kept on the site by your office
- One company data block reused on every page and in the PDF, so the portal, the site and the documents agree
What we do not claim yet
- We do not register your firm on any portal or fill the portal forms; each owner's fields differ and the account is yours
- No approved-vendor status is claimed for any client; approval is the owner's decision
